Con una altura de 1,5 metros, tiene ra\u00edces tuberosas de hasta 10 cent\u00edmetros de largo por 1,5 de grosor. Tiene grandes hojas basales, de l\u00f3bulos ovados o redondeados. Con flores de p\u00e9talos blancos hermafroditas y masculinas en la umb\u00e9lula primaria. El fruto es cil\u00edndrico, de hasta 6 mm de largo. El envenenamiento en el ganado es relativamente frecuente.
