hiedra son <a href=\"\/plantas\">plantas<\/a> a nivel del suelo progresan extendi\u00e9ndose, no superando los 5-20 cm de altura. Sin embargo cuando encuentran una superficie apta para trepar; \u00e1rboles, rocas o estructuras realizadas por el hombre como vallas, paredes o enrejados pueden superar los 30 m de altura.\r\nLas hojas de las especies son de dos tipos: las juveniles, que se encuentran en los tallos trepadores son lobuladas y las adultas son enteras y cordadas, en los tallos florales que crecen a pleno sol, normalmente a m\u00e1s de 2 m del suelo situadas sobre las copas de \u00e1rboles o rocas.\r\nLas flores son peque\u00f1as, de un color verdoso amarillento y se agrupan en inflorescencias terminales de entre tres y cinco cent\u00edmetros de di\u00e1metro por umbela. Su n\u00e9ctar es una importante fuente de alimento tard\u00edo para abejas y otros insectos.
