Sus tallos erectos y ascendentes son de 5 a 50 cms. Sus hojas son lineales a lanceoladas con un margen ondulado, dentadas o enteras. Sus flores azules y raramente blancas. Florece desde finales de primavera y a lo largo de todo el verano. Crece en lugares herbosos, pastizales ef\u00edmeros de monta\u00f1a, brezales, riscos y riberas.
