Tambi\u00e9n tiene otros nombres como Don Diego de D\u00eda, Campanilla morada o Hiedra morada. Pertenece a la familia de las Convolvul\u00e1ceas. Se encuentran en su mayor\u00eda en Am\u00e9rica y \u00c1frica, creciendo en ambientes tropicales.\r\nTiene como caracter\u00edsticas tallos delgados y fr\u00e1giles que se amoldan al entorno en el que crece, trepando y enred\u00e1ndose en algunas otras plantas o construcciones artificiales.
