especie es muy semejante al falso pl\u00e1tano (Acer pseudoplatanus L.) y se suele confundir con \u00e9l. Se trata de un esbelto <a href=\"\/arboles\">\u00e1rbol<\/a> de hasta 30 m de altura, de copa amplia, con corteza que al principio es lisa y gris\u00e1cea o pardusca, pero que con la edad va aj\u00e1ndose en estr\u00edas longitudinales. Las hojas son caducas, simples, opuestas sobre las ramillas y lobuladas, pero con el borde de \u00e1ngulos agudos, muy parecidas a las del pl\u00e1tano de paseo (Platanus hispanica Mill. ex M\u00fcnchh.). Adem\u00e1s, son m\u00e1s finas, lisas y brillantes por las dos caras y segregan l\u00e1tex al ser cortadas.
