ejemplares j\u00f3venes tienen el sombrero cerrado de color marr\u00f3n p\u00e1lido, que con el tiempo se abre, pudiendo alcanzan un di\u00e1metro de hasta 40 cm. Presenta escamas aplanadas y oscuras, que irradian desde el centro, donde se sit\u00faa un umb\u00f3n oscuro. Las l\u00e1minas son libres, blancas y apretadas.
