terrestre, los adultos, en algunas situaciones de peligro, exhiben una postura caracter\u00edstica denominada reflejo de Unken, que consiste en arquear el cuerpo, levantando la cola y cabeza y estirando las extremidades, mostrando as\u00ed la coloraci\u00f3n anaranjada o rojiza de la zona ventral del cuerpo, cabeza y cola.\r\nAl principio de la fase acu\u00e1tica, los adultos muestran actividad crepuscular, pero conforme avanza el periodo reproductor tiende a extender su actividad al periodo diurno.\r\nSu actividad estacional es variable, en el norte pueden estar inactivos en invierno, mientras que en las poblaciones del sur, el periodo de inactividad se sit\u00faa en verano.\r\nLos <a href=\"\/anfibios\">tritones<\/a> gallegos son los que alcanzan mayor tama\u00f1o, mientras que por debajo de esta \u00e1rea y hasta la sierra de Huelva los tritones alcanzan un tama\u00f1o similar, alrededor de los 72 mm.
